  Sistersville's Tiger Mascot Visits TCHS

Sistersville defeated Tyler at Basketball during this '67-'68 season but their beloved Tiger mascot apparently became enamored with the Red Raiders and "defected" to our side and ended up displayed on the table in the main hall of TCHS! Let's say, the tiger was "helped" off stage at the Sistersville Gym/Auditorium by one of my best friends, (NAME OMITTED), was tossed out a window into the waiting arms of (NAME OMITTED) and then hidden outside of town in the bus stop on Rt.18. After the game, the Tiger was taken to Middlebourne by these young men from TCHS.

Needless to say - our aged principal, Mr. Lawson, saw no humor in the prank and made the President Of The Student Body, Christine Hadley, accompany him to Sistersville to return the tiger and apologize to the SHS student body for the liberation and Tylerization of their mascot.

Hmmm...I wonder if he was tied to something after this little incident and did his color appear a little less
Orange and a bit more Red after his visit to TCHS?   After all - "Once a  Red Raider, Always A  Red Raider"!
